Staff havent a clue how to serve punters properly , along with 2 other punters stood being ignored at the bar while people who came in later got served 1st. 3 staff arsing around while 2 people left to serve - as long as you were at one end of the bar.
Shoddy way to treat customers and i wont be back in a hurry .

Theres been an improvement in this place since i last visited, the service is better for a start and if youre lucky you might get a nice pint of becks . The big screen is good for watching the footie .
And for what passes for good weather in this country dont sit outside unless you want carbon dioxide poisoning courtesy of lothian district transport.

Just had lunch at Tiles and thought I should add my ten penneth, although the rest of the food was "ok" (caesar salad and rollmop herring salad), I ordered the warm duck salad which firstly wasn't warm and was overpriced at 6-95, the "salad" was big chunks of badly sliced iceberg lettuce with a couple of pieces of tomato, mango and fairly insipid duck. When I mentioned this to the waiting staff their only reply was "you should have complained earlier". Having eaten there a few times, the food is normally fairly decent, but after this time i shan't be going back

Along with 10 or11 friends I recently went to Tiles on a Sunday morning looking for breakfast. The menu offered full Scottish breakfast, vegetarian Scottish breakfast, bacon roll or sausage roll. At least four of us ordered full Scottish breakfasts, a few bacon rolls and two people asked for egg rolls and one person asked for a sausage roll with a potato scone. the waitress didn't think the egg rolls or the sausage and potato scone roll would be possible and on checking with the chef confirmed this. We could only order what was on the menu!!! Despite the fact that the kitchen had eggs rolls and potato scones they could not give us what we had requested. We were agroup of Scottish girls on the morning after a hen night. With what we did order and our teas, coffees etc., we spent over £60 but we felt embarrased to think that foreign vivitors would have been treated like that. Scottish hospitality?? It is one place I wont hurry back to.
