i love this pub. it was my home for the summer and i am so grateful to all the regulars for making me feel so welcome.
even though it may not have been busy all the time the atmosphere was really laid back and welcoming.

One of the few tradititional bars left in the southside. With the sad demise of the Maltings and Southsider as decent bars there aint much choice apart from the student bars, although the bar does have a good mix of oldies and students, on the down side a bit pricey, but you could go to the maltings and get 50p vodka and pool que over your head. haha, also needs to go back to tradition name greenmantle and drop the plastic paddy name.

This place is ok if you just want a quiet pint and mind your own business. It's little bit on the expensive side, but hey it's not as if youre going to spend hours there.Staff are seemingly friendly.I wouldnt go overboard about the place, but its ok.
This pub used to be a hive of activity before the Royal Infirmary moved out of the town. They must have lost a lot of business.I have called in here the past 12 months or so for a pint or two and I have never seen it busy.Previous to this I used to venture here a lot 20 years ago, when it was busy.

Kildares is a reasonable pub if you want a quiet pint. The staff are friendly, as are the regulars (but not overly so). The beer is good, and serves Real Ale. I stick to my poison of Deuchars IPA.

It's not got much character, it isn't really one thing or another as far as style goes.

By the way, I've been in the pub several times and have never seen a computer near the place!

Good food and great beer along with interesting bar staff. They have a couple of broadband PC's available to you use which is unusal but can be very helpful! Highly recommended bar with lots history.
