If you enjoy pretentious kiddie's nights and have an IQ which matches the address then you will feel at home. Being deaf also helps. If you are an adult, don't even think about it. There is a great Scottish term which describes the 'food' on offer - shite!

Beluga is a very sexy, dark, stylish bar - but pretty expensive & is often full of posers!

If you think this pub is not expensive, then you have a heathly bank balance. Like most pubs in Edinburgh, they are way to expensive. I can drink cheaper in London! 3 pints are getting closer to £10 quid every year. I say 4 pints for a £10 is value for money without a promotion. When I go out with friends it which pub is the cheapest & thats usually one full of old men. Not going see any ladies under 60 in there!

Far far to busy, smokey, claustrophobic, horrendously loud music and a poor beer selection make Beluga one of the most awful pubs I've ever been in. Avoid!

Beluga is a great place, not too expensive - particularly with snapfax/student offers!! For dining you have to ask to sit upstairs - the food is tasty and good value, and for drinking downstairs is usually rammed and pretty loud so pretty hard to get a seat but again good value and good atmosphere!

Slow service, being completely ignored by staff. Took a good half hour before the soggy greasy starter arrived. Another half hour of being ignored watching other tables who arrived after us get their mains courses. When it finally came after having to get a waitress to check where it was, the fries were cold, the steak was cold, the bun for the steak sandwich was charred black and an attempt had been made to cover over the burnt bits with a tomatoey type sauce which didn't belong in the meal! The peppercorn sauce was congealed and had a skin on it. Drinks were overpriced. From sitting down to getting the main course was over an hour, and even after all that it still took 10 minutes to get our bloody bill. Needless to say we didn't eat the food, paid for our drinks and left, likely never to return.

God, where do I start? Is it the overripe pretentiousness of the place? The high-concept idiocy, submerging function in favour of flash? Perhaps it's the endless, endless tiles? Or the unremitting noise, which echoes unceasingly, making conversation unimagineable? Maybe it's the way that its deafening, yet somehow tomb-like, ambience can suck the life out of the liveliest party? Or maybe it's just the utter, maddening naffness of concept pubs? In 20 years' time, people will look at pictures of places like this and shake their heads. Of course, what makes this nonsense inexcusable is that it is killing proper, grown-up pubs. Leaving aside the dives, this is without doubt the worst drinking establishment I have ever visited.
